Nepal Policy Institute (NPI) – a Netherlands based global Nepali diaspora think-tank and knowledge platform – has recommended Nepal government to welcome all stranded Nepali returnee migrant workers, daily wage earners and any others, who have been impacted by the spread of coronavirus and arrange transportation back to their home destinations in Nepal.

Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), an association of non-resident Nepalis across the globe, will initiate in repatriating Nepalis stranded in foreign countries due to global lockdown, it has been said. However, the Government of Nepal has asked Nepalis in foreign countries to remain safe in the places where they were staying until April-end. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on behalf of the government requested the Nepalis in a foreign land in this regard.

The Nepali Embassy in Malaysia has rescued 23 Nepali nationals from various places in Malaysia and sent them home. The workers stranded in various places were rescued and sent back to Nepal, the embassy said. The embassy even had managed the air fare to them.

The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat has organized a free Health Camp for awareness, initial screening and check-up for Breast Cancer at Al-Mara land, Qurum Garden, Muscat in association with Oman Cancer Association and Barakath Al-Noor Clinic. Around 75 Nepali females benefited through free health camp and nearly 30 males get benefited from free blood sugar test, blood pressure and BMI measurement.
