The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and its affiliate the Afghan Independent Journalists’ Association (AIJA) raise serious concerns about the deteriorating safety situation in Afghanistan after three separate attacks across the country. The IFJ demands swift action from Afghan authorities to punish the perpetrators and ensure safety for journalists in the country.

Nepal and Burkina Faso has established formal bilateral diplomatic relations on Friday. Ambassador Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, and ambassador Yemdaogo Eric Tiare, Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the United Nations signed a Joint Communiqué to this effect at a brief ceremony at the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN in New York, Friday morning. Together, they signed a joint letter informing the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, about the development.
Ambassador Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, and Ambassador Christian Wenaweser, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein to the United Nations met in New York on Friday to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Liechtenstein as of 24 November 2017, through the exchange of diplomatic notes. On the occasion, they also signed a joint letter informing His Excellency António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) of this development.
